My brother is my best friend. I'm not his, but whatever. His name is Brooks, and he now goes to The University of Oklahoma. I often stalk him or text him all the time just so I can keep in touch. Today is the day he is coming home for a month on break. I have been waiting for this since August 17th (or 18th), which was when he left for college. I go to him for advice sometimes, and he is pretty good at it. He doesn't have a lot of time for me since he is busy with college and initiation, but I know that this month he will at least have to see me everyday. Another reason I love him is because he is ULTRA protective. Since we are 4 years apart, he considers me very young. He used to not even let his friends cuss around me. I love my brother with ALL my heart (ask anyone I am friends with, they'll say I am obsessed)! I cannot wait to see him tonight!
My candidate is Snowball. He is going against Napoleon. Hands down, Snowball is the better candidate based on his attributes. He is more vivacious. People side with Napoleon for the simple fact that he is more fierce-looking.
My first reason for Snowball being the better leader is the fact that he is good at speaking. You can find proof of this in chapter 2. It reads "Snowball was quicker in speech (than Napoleon)". Another example could be in the same chapter when it says ""No," said Snowball firmly." He says it firm, which shows he can be tough and attentive. Next, I believe Snowball would be better because he is more original. I believe this because it says in the book "he is more inventive" comparing him to Napoleon. Him being more original can be backed up by the action he made of "throwing on to the fire the ribbons with which the horses' manes and tails had usually been decorated on market days." This was a powerful move he made, and it had not been done before for them. Finally, Snowball is more sophisticated and smart. This is because in one of his speeches, he says "A bird's wing, comrades, is an organ of propulsion and not manipulation. It should therefore be regarded as a leg. The distinguishing mark of man is the hand, the instrument with which he does all his mischief." This gives a great example of him being a leader. Another example of his smartness is when it says "Snowball, who had studied an old book of Julius Caesar's campaigns which he had found in the farmhouse, was in charge of the defensive operations." Obviously, this shows he has studied and would be a great leader. In conclusion, Snowball is smart, well spoken, and more original. Christmas time is the jolliest time of the year. I wait all summer, fall, and spring for it. The presents, trees, lights, and even the people. Everyone is a little bit happier, and a little bit more generous. Secret Santa, White Elephant, and so much more is something everyone can look forward to. I am so glad it is finally December, but I am also sad that it is soon to be over.
My favorite thing about Christmas is obviously the presents, but also the reunions. Family time is very important, and it is often the only time of year people get together as one and bring gifts for each other. It is a happy day, happy month, and happy season. Without Christmas and the joy of Santa Clause, where would we be today? Life would be duller than ever before. A dream can change the world. This sounds very broad right now, but I will explain my thinking. Martin Luther King had a dream, and it made the world a much better place. If your dream is logical, you can share it and eventually make a change. The change can be big or small, but a change is a change. Eventually, if it's good enough, it can make it's way around the world.
I would change the world by making it a happier, friendlier place. I would help people with realizing the things that could be better, and open there eyes to the changes they could help me make. We could all do charity work together, save animals, help elders, and encourage homeless people. We can all make a change if we work together, and a dream can lead to a reality if you believe in it enough. Today I found out some very exciting news. If you don't know me, you probably don't know that I am a major OU fan. You may be able to tell by now, but my exciting news is that my dads office is letting him have 3 tickets to there suite for the OU game tomorrow. I LOVE football games (especially Oklahoma ones), but I love watching them in a suite even more!
My dad texted me saying "suite may be open for game tomorrow, will find out shortly" and when I read this I could barely breathe. I started praying that I could go, and eventually I found out God answered my prayers. "We have 3 tickets in the suite", my dad texted back. My heart stopped. I am so so excited for this. My brother then text me asking if I was gonna go (which makes me wonder if he knows me at all). Anyways, I am very excited to see my brother and very excited to go to the game tomorrow. If I was stranded on an island and already provided food and water, I would bring blankets, a deck of cards, and one of my friends. Usually I would say that I would bring my phone, but with my friend Cammarie and a deck of cards I would be set for a while. If i brung it anyways, it would die and I could've used my third choice for something more useful.
My reasoning for bringing these things are pretty smart in my opinion. It would probably be cold, so I decided to bring a blanket (or blankets if I'm lucky). Even if it was hot I could sleep on it. I have recently learned my love for the many games of cards I can play, so I would teach Cammarie all of them and we would play it when we get bored. I chose Cammarie because she is one of my best friends and we would have the most fun time together. We joke around about pretty much everything and it is very fun to hangout with her. This years Thanksgiving was my favorite yet. My family and I go to my cousins house in Coppell every year. We eat around 1, and then hangout all day. My mom brings the stuffing (which is really good). Besides that, the other food we eat includes green bean casserole, turkey, ham, lamb, mashed potatoes, homemade noodles, rolls, and much much more. I LOVE it all, and look forward to it every year. My favorite part of the whole night is hanging out and playing cards with my cousins, aunt and uncle, grandparents, and everyone else. I learned lots of new games like speed, cucumber taco, spades, and gin. I am thankful for my whole family, and being able to be with them all on this holiday.
If you know me, you know what my favorite animal is. I aspire to be this animal in every way possible. The special animal I am talking about is a sloth. Sloths are furry, slow, lazy, and that's about it. They have really sharp teeth, and if they want to bite you, it HURTS (so I've heard). I am not physically like a sloth, but mentally it is the perfect match. Here's why...
The reason why the sloth represents me is because of its slow, laziness. Whenever I decide to be a couch potato for a little bit, I lay in bed and snuggle with my huge sloth stuffed animal and move at the pace they move. I never have the energy to get out of bed, and when I do it takes a long time. Even if that means going on my phone for "5 more minutes", it still takes about the same time for me that it would take for a sloth. Sloths are also just the most perfect animals and I aspire to be like the everyday. Something I have always wished I could do is sing. I just picture myself driving in my car singing along to songs and actually being pleasant to listen to. Currently, my singing voice is sorta like a sarcastic teenage boy going through puberty. It doesn't bug me too much since I can still listen to music, but a part of me still gets a little upset.
Believe it or not, I used to be a singer/actor at TCAA (Texas Creative Arts Academy) and pretty much spent my whole life there. I thought I was a pretty good singer back then, but looking back at it I wasn't that great. My mom and dad told me they loved my singing (obviously) but I have a feeling other people couldn't stand to hear it. I still sing for fun, yes, but singing like a pro is something I wish I could do. I am proud to be a Jag because of all the school spirit. Our pep rallies are super fun and it always makes me happy to see all the school spirit. Whenever it's a spirit day it makes me look forward to seeing everyone at school. My favorite spirit day so far has been pink out day. My second favorite is PJ day.
Another reason I am proud to be a jag is because of the campus. It is super pretty, especially the 9th grade center. It ir designed to fit the newest style that is proven to be a great school environment. I also LOVE the lecture hall and all of the available outlets. I rather be a Jag than go to any other school. |
